2014 is quickly approaching which of course means for me that it’s time to look back on the most glorious meals and discoveries of 2013. From sophisticated southern fare to the perfect Chinese food, as far as food in 2013 goes, here’s what I found to be the most delectable.

Il Buco Alimentari
The more casual sister restaurant to the widely loved “Il Buco”. This restaurant has everything going for it. The first time I ate here with my family we were in shock, every single dish that came out was perfect. From razor clam ceviche to roasted rabbit, there’s a huge variety of truly exquisite and fresh Italian dishes.

The Catbird Seat
No question, best meal of 2013. It succeeds in the complicated task of using molecular gastronomy without sacrificing the homespun feeling. All the creations that emerge from the kitchen are beautifully crafted, thought out and made with the utmost amount of care. With only 32 seats surrounding the pristine kitchen, a reservation doesn’t come easily. However, it’s worth the wait!

Blackberry Farm
Blackberry Farm is a 4,200 acres resort, farm located in the smokey mountains of Tennessee. In other words, this place is paradise. Every inch is beautifully designed and well kept and the food is unbelievably fresh and delicious. If you can’t make it down to Blackberry, no worries, because, all of their homemade jams, preserves, and pickles are available for you to enjoy, wherever you are! Also- they have two cookbook’s, which feature the recipes of the refined farm to table southern cooking they serve up at the resort every day.

The culinary masterminds who brought you Parm and Torrisi and Sons now have a new restaurant which elevates traditional red sauce Italian to places it’s never ever been before.The food is great and so is the atmosphere, get a reservation while you can.

Red Farm
I’ve never been a huge fan of Chinese food, but when it’s good it’s so good. Red Farm is so good. I’ll leave it at that.
